KATHLEEN ARVILA-SCOTT

Kathleen is an artist who was born and raised in Butte, Montana and currently resides there.  She was blessed to be part of a very creative Finnish family and signs all of her artwork with “Arvila” in honor of the memory of her father, Raymond Arvila.
She enjoys creating detailed artwork with compositions that tell a story and possess a vintage feeling of a past era.  Her mediums include watercolor, oils, pastels, acrylic and mixed media.


Exhibits include Western Montana College U of M – Dillon, MT;  Virginia City, MT Art Festival; Phillipsburg, MT Art Festival;  Art Chateau – Butte, MT;  Art Walks – Butte, MT;    Butterfly Herbs – Missoula, MT;  Montana Gallery – Butte, MT;  Main Stope Gallery – Butte, MT;  Elling House Arts & Humanties Center – Virginia City, MT;  Dana Gallery - Missoula, MT.
Awards include 1st Place in 2-D design-1997 Juried Student Exhibit-Western MT College U of M, Dillon, MT;  2nd Place in 2-D design-1998 Juried Student Exhibit-Western MT College U of M, Dillon, MT;  1st Place in 3-D design-1999 Juried Student Exhibit-Western MT College U of M, Dillon, MT;  Virginia City, MT 150th Anniversary Poster Contest Winner - 2013.
Special Commission includes designing the poster to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Butte Silver Bow Courthouse, Butte, MT – 2012.
Education – Graduated from Western Montana College U of M, Dillon, MT  in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education, majoring in art education.
